Cityheart completed and handed over this 117 bed student accommodation project in the heart of Chester close to the University in September 2016. The scheme is divided into two blocks, a four storey ‘T’ shaped block housing 105 beds and support facilities together with an adjacent town house of 12 studio beds.
The mix of accommodation in the scheme contains two-thirds studio apartments, aimed at Post-Graduates and foreign students, and one third en-suite Cluster Flats with shared kitchen and communal living areas.
The scheme was constructed on the site of a rundown commercial office building. The site itself is located on an important gateway into the City and was a very tight and congested location. Design was therefore key as was the intensive consultation process that ultimately resulted in planning consent.
