The Galleries, Wigan Redevelopment

Cityheart has been appointed as Wigan Council’s Strategic Development Partner to deliver a long-term, mixed-use regeneration project at the 8-acre The Galleries Site, located in the heart of Wigan.

The site presents the opportunity to repurpose surplus retail space in The Galleries and regenerate this area of Wigan to provide a vibrant, mixed-use destination.

Cityheart established a best-in-class project team to transform the site, involving design, construction, finance and ultimately the long-term operation and management of the scheme.

In summary, the masterplan will deliver:

• Over 460 residential units
• Hotel
• A new anchor market and food hall
• Co-working and incubator space
• A new mixed-use leisure destination comprising multi-screen cinema, complimentary leisure uses, restaurant units and an events venue
• Attractive public realm and events square
